Chitra Ramanathan - contemporary visual artist - painting

U.S.A based freelance artist-painter and art educator Chitra Ramanathan completed a residency at the Camac Centre D'Art at Marnay sur Seine, France during the month of April 2010 upon an invitation from Artistay with a grant.

During her stay she developed a series of new conceptual landscapes of the surrounding areas as well as en plein air on-site that were created on wood panels and canvases, with plans of large-scale versions of the small pieces currently under way back in her studio in the United States.

"some of the conceptual landscapes that I created on wood panels and small canvases while at Camac, recording the scenic surroundings from the windows of my artist studio. I will soon be creating abstacted large-scale versions of the works at my art studio, planning to use them as inpiration, similar to my earlier work inspired by Monet's gardens at Giverny."
