Duration of my residency
4 weeks
Reason(s) of the residency
New source of inspiration
What was my residency project?
The inspiration for my work has always been the natural environment, as I experience it in my travels and at home through the changing seasons. For my residency project, the river Seine was my inspiration. My studio was on the riverbank, and I watched it's daily ebb and flow. I created a textile work that echoed the many shades of green I saw, the light and shadow, textures of shrubs and leaves, and the changing surface of the water.
During the residency, I took part in a public event
Open studio
Positive aspects I have gained from my residency
The opportunity to spend time in a new environment, interaction with a variety of other artists, the challenge of language, and most important - time to engage in my work without the daily interruptions.
Funding of the residency
Self-funding
